Doña Margarita Vineyard

Tucked away on the Sonoma Coast between Freestone and Occidental, the site enjoys cool climate growing conditions with ample sunlight. Here, the vines enjoy higher elevation and sandy loam soils nestled in the rugged coastal terrain of Sonoma’s West County. A family owned and farmed vineyard, it is named for the family patriarch, Margarita Riera De Torrez.

 

Rossi Ranch

The Grenache in our previous vintages was borne from the Madder Lake Vineyard. After the site experienced significant smoke damage in 2018, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase fruit from the historic Rossi Ranch for this vintage.

This vineyard site was planted in 1910 by Carlo Rossi whose family managed the farm for more than 80 years. The site’s sweeping vistas extend across Sonoma Mountain and Bennett Valley. With old vines and soil laced with light volcanic ash and obsidian, this organically-farmed vineyard creates an ideal Grenache growing environment.
